High numbers get the moisture-mitigating primer. If the floor ever has liquid water on it after a storm, we stop and get that fixed before anything else.

Over the primer we pour a 100% solids epoxy base and throw decorative chip into it until it is fully covered, then roll on a polyaspartic seal. The floor ends up 30 to 40 mils thick and does not trap odor the way carpet does. It is warrantied for 15 years.

Old Paint, Thin Slabs, Ten Minutes Away

The concrete in these rooms is half a century old, give or take, and thinner than anything poured today, with hairline cracking and often a coat of gray floor paint. The paint comes off completely under the grinder; nothing sticks well to old paint. Some converted rooms still have the small square tile from decades back, and that is not ours to pull. Tile that age may carry asbestos, so it is tested first, and a positive result goes to a licensed abatement company or is encapsulated, whichever fits the condition; we will tell you which.
