Sherwood Driveway Coatings, Done Right the Second Time

Somewhere around 2015, a lot of Sherwood homeowners rolled a tinted sealer or driveway paint onto their concrete. We see the results all over Woodhaven and Sunset Ridge: peeling at the tire lanes, a patchy two-tone look, and bare spots near the garage where water sat. The concrete under all that is generally fine. It just has a failed product stuck to it in some places and not others.

Why the Last Coating Peeled

Most failed driveway coatings share a cause: the product was a surface film, and the concrete underneath was never prepared to hold it. A pressure wash does not open the pores enough. Old Town Sherwood still has 1900s houses with short driveways to detached garages. Those slabs are thin, often replaced piecemeal over the years, and patched in spots. Cracks there tend to be the moving kind, and we are upfront that they will come back through. The subdivisions around Cedar Creek, Middleton, and Woodhaven are 1990s to 2020s concrete that is sound.
